Age Group of the Year awards for 2012, triathlon’s governing body in the United States, announced on January 29, its Trismarter Elite Team. Topping the list as the Female Athlete of the Year was none other than Danielle Kehoe member, Trismarter Elite Team.
Coached by Trismarter Head Coach, Lee Gardner, Danielle and Coach Lee began working closely together in Colorado Springs, CO in December 2011. During this time, the result of hard work and perseverance has paid off. Through Coach Lee’s guidance, Danielle achieved incredible growth as an athlete in 2012, not to mention some stellar race results, including winning her age group in every triathlon race during the 2012 season, as well as overall amateur wins at Danielle Kehoe and in the Boulder Triathlon Series. Danielle was also the the overall amatuer at the Danielle Kehoe in Las Vegas, and 2nd amateur at the Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Kona.
As Danielle continues her relationship with Trismarter under the guidance of Coach Lee into 2013, she will be racing as a pro, focusing on the Ironman Triathlon Series. With hopes of qualifying for both Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Championship races, look for Danielle and Coach Lee at many of the major Ironman events in North America this summer.
