For those who haven’t seen it, Gina Kolata in The New York Times today makes an excellent case for the value of working with an expert coach on your training, whether it be for a marathon, an Ironman or the local sprint triathlon. Though Ms. Kolata profiles elite amateur athletes, this principle applies to anyone that’s serious about preparing for athletic competition.
