Trismarter Triathlon Coaching & Nutrition is proud to announce that Tri2Lose athlete, Heather Wajer has won a chance to race in the 2012 Ironman World Championships through the Ironman Kona Inspired contest. Kona Inspired, a program launched earlier in 2012 by Ironman, is a platform that provides a venue for athletes to share their stories, but also puts the power in the hands of everyone in the endurance community. The ultimate process is to pick eight inspirational individuals to compete in the 2012 Ironman World Championship. Heather is now among the eight!

Heather’s Kona Inspired video gathered momentum through two rounds of voting that ended on July 3. Votes were gathered from around the endurance community, making Heather a Kona Bound Winner in the Kona Inspired contest.

Seeking support to achieve her goals of weight loss and in her love for triathlon, Heather joined Trismarter’s Tri2Lose program, where she was paired with triathlon coach Lee Gardner and sports nutritionist Bill Nadeau to help her lose weight and become a fit and healthy athlete!

“Over the past few years I’ve completely transformed my life by losing over half my body weight, overcoming addiction and becoming an Ironman triathlete. A few years ago I weighed over 315 pounds, smoked a pack of cigarettes a day and was a daily drinker. Today I’ve lost half my body weight, given up bad habits and am a 2x Ironman finisher. “ says Heather.

Coach Lee: “It’s an exciting challenge for us to work with someone like Heather. She’s very motivated and hard working, juggling weight loss, Ironman training, family life and a career. Helping her manage and achieve her goals, overcoming the challenges, and being a part of Heather’s transformation has been incredible. And now we get to go Kona! I couldn’t be more proud!”
