Trismarter‘s small but mighty elite team is traveling to Phoenix, AZ on February 14, 2012 (Valentine’s Day) for a week of big training in the sun. The team, under the direction of Trismarter Head Coaching, Lee Gardner, consists of two up-and-coming triathlete’s, Louis Tafuto and Danielle Kehoe.
“Both Louis and Danielle are expecting to have big breakthrough seasons in 2012,” said Coach Gardner, “so it only makes sense that we optimize training conditions by getting out of the snow and cold and into some warm weather.”
Louis, coming off of a successful season of racing sprint triathlon in 2011, including a 7th place age group finish at the Sprint World Championship in Beijing, China, will be switching his focusing to Olympic distance races in the 5i50 Triathlon Series, as well as getting his feet wet in ITU-style racing for 2012.
As a long course specialist, Danielle will be focused on Ironman St. George, where she finished 8th overall in 2011. Hopes of solidifying another start in the Ironman World Championships in Kona are high. In 2011, Danielle was the only age group female to qualify and race Ironman, Ironman 70.3, and Xterra World Championships.
The training camp will, “focus on fitness and form assessments, and be a week of logging big miles on the bike,” according to Coach Gardner.
