The 2011 Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Las Vegas, NV is being heald on September 11. Toeing the line will be two Trismarter athletes, both making their first appearance in the 70.3 Champs.

Jonathan Hiipakka, 41, qualified for the Ironman 70.3 Championship race in at the Muncie Ironman 70.3, in Muncie, IN. Jonathan, an age-grouper from Beverly Hills, Michigan, has had two open-heart surgeries to replace his aortic valve with a pig valve. Despite his heart condition, Jonathan has continued to improve from race to race this year, and in Muncie, the hard work that he has put in this season really paid off. Joining Jonathan in Las Vegas will be Krystyna Glavinovic, a 23-year old student from Montreal, QC. Tyna qualified for the 70.3 Champs July 31 at the Calgary Ironman 70.3. Her incredible work ethic and smart racing has made her an age-group athlete to lookout for in the coming years. Tyna is also a world traveler, having spent a year abroad in Australia and New Zealand, where she not only continued with her studies, but also raced Challenge Wanaka (IM distance) and Challenge Cairns (HIM distance). Included on her schedule this summer is Boulder 70.3 and Ironman Louisville.
